Direct answer

What Is KM Resource Grid?

A lightweight way to turn downloadable files and descriptions into an organized public resource page.

KM Resource Grid is a free WordPress resource library plugin that lets website owners publish responsive grids of PDFs, eBooks, guides, templates, checklists and other downloadable files. It includes separate desktop, tablet and mobile columns, visual style controls, shortcode placement, accessible markup and structured output without tracking visitors.

Replace Scattered Download Links

A normal WordPress page can display file links, but maintaining repeated images, descriptions and buttons becomes difficult as the library grows. KM Resource Grid stores each resource in a dedicated admin area and produces a consistent frontend card automatically.

The plugin is designed for public collections of useful downloads. It does not add ecommerce, protected client files or complicated document-management workflows that a simple free-resource page may not need.

  • Keep resource titles, images, summaries and file links together.
  • Maintain a consistent card layout without copying HTML for every file.
  • Choose different grid columns for desktop, tablet and mobile screens.
  • Use theme styles by default or override selected design settings.
  • Place the resource library on an assigned page or with a shortcode.

Getting started

How to Create a Resource Library in WordPress

The plugin creates the initial page and keeps day-to-day resource management inside the WordPress dashboard.

  1. Install the Free Plugin Open Plugins → Add New Plugin, search for KM Resource Grid, then install and activate the official WordPress.org release.
  2. Add a Resource Open KM Resources → Add New. Enter the title, add the short description in the Excerpt field, choose an image and select or paste the file URL.
  3. Choose the Library Page Use the default Free Resources page or assign another existing page under KM Resources → Settings. Existing page content is preserved.
  4. Configure and Publish Choose the responsive columns and styling you need, save the settings and publish additional resources as your library grows.

Alternative placement: Insert [km_resource_grid] into any page, post or compatible page-builder shortcode area.

Choosing correctly

Resource Grid vs Document Library vs Ecommerce

Choose the tool according to the visitor experience you need, not simply because every option can contain files.

Need Best fit Reason
Visual public library of free resources KM Resource Grid Designed for image-led cards containing titles, descriptions and direct download buttons.
Searchable, filterable document management Dedicated document-library plugin Choose this when you require categories, filters, sorting, permissions, versioning or large-scale document workflows.
Selling files with checkout WooCommerce or digital-sales platform KM Resource Grid does not process payments, licenses, taxes or paid-file delivery.
Private client files Secure client-portal plugin Use access-controlled software when downloads must be restricted by account, role or private link.
